#8 Captain Crunch - The 2018 2-year-old champion pacer barley made today's field, but he certainly had trouble in his elimination as he went off-stride in the first turn.  Prior to that, his two races in May were beyond impressive, especially his 2019 debut.  Over a sloppy track, he paced 1:49.1 and the last quarter was extremely fast.  He will have to overcome the post position, but the talent is clearly there and he looks poised to bounce back.

#2 De Los Cielos Deo - He qualified impressively, then fired in his North America Cup elimination where he just had to much ground to make up.  He came home in 25 flat off a back half in 51.4.  He has a lot of talent and it will take a lot to beat him.

#9 Workin Ona Mystery - Overcame post 9 last week, finished strong even after scoping sick, Trainer Brian Brown sent him away for the best treatment possible and he should be ready to roll. Tetrick a 3- time winner and Brown a previous NACUP winner,  have been here before as well, they know what it takes to win and picking post 4 is a great start for the colt. Brian told us in February he was training back super and he had high hopes for this season.

In-depth analysis by Jessica Otten:

Goodtimes
in a competitive field of trotters, I’m going to go to the 3 Pilot Discretion as my top choice in the Goodtimes final. He’s a perfect 5-5 career and seems to be getting stronger with every start. I think starting from post 3 is a good spot for this guy.

Armbro Flight

Although it would be extremely awesome to see the queen Hannelore Hanover take the Armbro Flight for the 4th time— I am going to go with Atlanta as my top, as did Yannick  That had to be a tough choice to make. She has just been so good since her return to the track as a 4 yr old and last week it looked like she still had some left in the tank.

Mohawk Gold Cup

How do you not pick McWicked? yes, I see he hasn't raced in a month— but following Casie on social media you a can see shes had him race tight and ready to go. Draws inside too!
Fan Hanover
I actually like a few different fillies in here— but I am going to go with the impressive Warrawee Ubeaut. She made the front last week and NEVER looked back. 26.2 last quarter and her plugs were still in. Yannick said in an interview shes a bit easier to handle this year, thats huge!

North America Cup

Ahhhhh! The race we have all been waiting for! What a competitive field we have here, every horse that made it into the final raced awesome in their elims last week. But I am going to stick with Captain Crunch as my top choice in here. Yes, he shows making an uncharacteristic break last week, he jumped a shadow and was about at a complete stop, before getting back into the race, which he was parked the entire mile, so you have to figure he’s going to be a little tired at the end of the mile— yet still coming home in 26.3. He didn’t have much luck to the draw as they start from post 8. I see a rebound coming from this guy. Its Crunch Time!

Roses Are Red

It’s always a toss-up between Caviart Ally and Shartin N for me. After being at Harrahs Philly that day when they were noses apart the entire LQ, I wish every race to be that way. But I am going to go with Shartin N as my top pick, shes just crazy good. Timmy never really asked her down the lane and had plenty left.
